Mikhail Yasnov

Mikhail Alekseyevich Yasnov (Яснов, Михаил Алексеевич in Russian) (1906 - 1991) was a Soviet politician, Chairman of Moscow City Executive Committee, Soviet head of Moscow (1950-1956). In 1956-1957 he was the head of the government of the RSFSR (Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR). In 1957-1966 was first deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR. 1966-1967 Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (head of state) and later deputy. In 1950-1954 chairman of the Council of the Union, the higher chamber of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He was made a Hero of Socialist Labor in 1976.
