Michael John Tilleman (born March 30, 1944 in Chinook, Montana) played in the National Football League for 12 seasons (1965-1976), and he was a starter for 11 of those seasons. He was originally drafted by the Denver Broncos of the American Football League, as well as the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL.
He played for four different NFL teams during his pro stint: two years for the Minnesota Vikings, four seasons with the New Orleans Saints, two years for the Houston Oilers, and spent his final four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
After recovering from cancer in 1971, he was chosen the NFL's "Comeback Player of the Year" in 1972, when he led the NFL with 15 quarterback sacks.
He was selected to the NFL's All-Pro team in 1973.
Tilleman played for the Montana Grizzlies from 1963-1964 and after graduating from UM, he bypassed his senior season in 1965 to sign with the Vikings. He was a second team All-Big Sky Conference team pick in 1963 and 1964.
He came to the University of Montana from Chinook, Montana, where he was a prep star.
Mike is currently married to his wife Gloria and runs a successful business in Havre, Montana.
