Mike Murley

Mike Murley is a noted jazz musician in Toronto, Canada who was a member of the celebrated jazz ensemble The Shuffle Demons. Along with leading various projects, he has also been a co-leader/sideman with musicians and groups such as David Occhipinti, David Braid, Rob McConnell, and Metalwood. He graduated from the prestigious music program at York University in Toronto with a BFA in 1986 and is currently a professor of jazz at that same institution, having previously taught at the University of Toronto from 1993 until 2005. His main instrument is the tenor saxophone and he currently plays with the Murley/Braid Quartet. He is a recipient of a Juno Award for his music.
