Mikael "Micke" Nilsson [IPA: 'miːkɑɛl 'nɪlsɔn] (born June 24, 1978 in Ovesholm) is a Swedish footballer Wingback and Midfielder, who currently plays for Panathinaikos FC.
Nilsson is described as highly versatile and can be utilized in a number of positions although primarily operates as an attacking wing back. He has played in the Sweden national team since 2002, when he made his debut against the Czech Republic in which he scored two goals. He has been included in his country's squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He also played at UEFA Euro 2004 as a vital member of Sweden.
A offer from Stade Rennais was refused by Panathinaikos durring the summer of 2007.
4 March 2008 he stated that when returning to Sweden he would play for Halmstads BK, but he would live in Malmö since he wanted to live in a larger city.[1]
He is called "MiNi" by swedish supporters, refering to the first letters in both hes first and second name.
