Dr. Miguel Angel Martinez-Gonzalez, MD, MPH, PhD, (born in 1957 in Malaga, Spain) is a Spanish physician, epidemiologist, and nutrition researcher. Currently, Dr. Martinez is the Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at University of Navarra at the Medical School. Dr. Martinez is the 'Principal Investigator' of the SUN study, and the Coordinator of the thirteen Centers included in the PREDIMED Network (a large clinical trial assessing the effects of a Mediterranean diet on the primary prevention of Cardiovascular disease).
