Mighty ReArranger is an album by the British rock singer Robert Plant and his band the Strange Sensation. It was released on April 25, 2005 internationally, May 9 in the United Kingdom and a day later in the United States. Mighty ReArranger contains a blend of world and Western music influences, with mystical, oblique and somewhat cynical references to religion and destiny. The album also contains a strong political statement with the song Freedom Fries. The first single was Shine It All Around. Special editions of the album sold exclusively in Best Buy retailers feature a 44-minute interview bonus disc, A Conversation with Robert Plant, with an interview by Nigel Williamson.

This album was chosen as one of Amazon.com's Top 100 Editor's Picks of 2005, and was nominated for two Grammy Awards. The album was re-released in a remastered edition on March 20, 2007 and as a part of the Nine Lives boxset.

[edit] Song meanings

The Mighty ReArranger is a Fate-like entity that controls the affairs of humanity[1], and the album explores mysticism. Freedom Fries is critical of the presidency of George W. Bush and the climate of United States politics after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Brother Ray is a nickname for Ray Charles, who had recently died when the album was recorded. The title is also similar to The Velvet Underground's Sister Ray.
