A few entries on this page (including the first) lists the Middle Ages as lasting from the 5th to the 16th Century (400-1500). However, the range encompassed by the 5th to the 16th century would be 401-1600, as supported by Wikipedia articles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5th_century and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16th_century. The range 400-1500 would actually be the end of the 4th century to the end of the 15th century.
