I've removed the "restoration of the line" section as this appears to be entirely made up. If anyone has reliable sources that show this to be based on one of the Awdrys' writings, then feel free to add it back with the appropriate references. Thanks, Gwernol 11:55, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

When the stories of the Railway Series made to television, why was Stanley changed to Smudger? Can somebody tell me? I've been wondering about this.
