[edit] Rationale for fair use in Middle Park (stadium)
This work is copyrighted and unlicensed. It does not fall into one of the blanket acceptable non-free content categories listed at Wikipedia:Non-free content#Images or Wikipedia:Non-free content#Audio clips. However, it is believed that the use of this work in the article "Middle Park (stadium)" :
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content and Wikipedia:Copyrights. |
This picture is being used in Wikipedia's article for Middle Park (stadium), to show what the original home of the South Melbourne FC looked like.
- It is of lower quality then the original;
- It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the related product in any way
Further, i believe the use of the image is fair because it is not being used merely to decorate the related article, but rather:
- Aids in displaying what the Stadium looked like when it was in existence, which can not be reproduced as the stadium in question no longer exists.
