Presentation :
The SAEP aims to share lessons learnt during the reconstruction of the regions hit by the 8th of October earthquake in Pakistan. An important multimedia content is collected from fi eld workers, development and relief organizations. Events and productions are carried out to inform the professionals of these lessons, innovations and promising practices. Micromégas led an expedition during the summer 2006, to meet organizations and individuals involved in the reconstruction efforts. Another visit is planned during the summer 2007, to collect complementary content and to fi lm interviews and visits.
Objectives :
Provide detailed information about promising initiatives and innovations led during the reconstruction effort. Update and complete this information through fi eld missions and partnerships with development actors. Diversify the diffusion supports to reach and sensitize the largest possible audience. Reinforce the long friendship ties between Pakistan and France.
A project supported by Micromegas :
A French NGO created by a group of University students keen on journalism and knowledge management. Provides services, material and guidelines to produce audiovisual studies. Puts in common know-how, means and contacts related to such initiatives, to circulate the productions through various media.

A series of innovation summary notes :
The scouted initiatives will be presented through brief documents. A model of summary note was designed in order to present and analyse the good practices developed on the fi eld. It also refers to key contacts, links and documents to gather deeper information. Like other productions, it will be diffused through specialized networks to ensure that the knowledge is correctly shared.
An electronic library :
An online media library gives access to audiovisual content, project descriptions, and precisions on the fi eld initiatives. Dedicated modules are developped to present the multimedia content. The summary notes present each promising initiative. Development professionals and other partners have access to complementary information such has technical descriptions and contact information.
A roving exhibition :
An audiovisual exhibition aims to present a selection documents, photos and fi lms. Testimonies provide updated information on the fi eld activities. Computers give access to complementary content through the electronic library. This exhibition is designed to travel from institutions to cultural centers and other places of interest, around the world.
Knowledge sharing events :
Events will be organized especially to share and discuss about the replicable initiatives led on the fi eld. -A series of conference to sensitize the public on these issues. -A knowledge sharing seminar will be organized in Paris. It is divided in two parts: -Presentation of the initiatives; -Discussion with experts to analyse the replication arrangements.
Follow up :
Reaching systematization by providing multimedia equipment and tranning to local NGO’s, to transmit regularly documents and audiovisual content. The improvement of their projects’ visibility should strengthen their fund raising capacities. Thus, SAEP creates innovative multimedia products to value the scouted knowledge and initiatives (interview modules, interactive maps, animation, communication package…). If SAEP manages to gather enough funds, the most promising innovations could be supported by a dedicated communication plan and a grant, through an innovation award.
