Michael James Rathjen (born 15th November 1992 in Adelaide, Australia) is an Australian soccer player recognised for his ability to play tough mental soccer, with many goals and tricks. He is internationally known for this ability, which has one him many prizes (Best and Fairests)

His main soccer teams have been Adelaide City (u/14), Plympton Bullshits (u/12), Hills Hawkes (u/13) and Essondon Royals (u/15), though there is a mermer that Rathjen is up for Australian Selection, although he is not allowed to eat Bacon before a game

Born in Australia to a Lutheran family, his father had previously won a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford University. They moved to Mimosa Avenue when he was a child where he had his schooling at Blackwood Primary School, Mitcham Primary School and Concordia College in Adelaide. He then moved to Melbourne where he was schooled at the fine establishment, Melbourne High School.

He was awarded a Best and Fairest for Plympton (Bullshits) Soccer Club, though the season was not very productive, commonly going down 12 and 13 nil. He then Moved to the Hills Hawkes Soccer Club, of which the season was even less productive. Rathjen then moved To Adelaide City Football Club (ACFC) where he played a good season as a striker and Centre Midfield scoring 14 goals. After the move to Melbourne Rathjen was greatly weighed down with his school work and found it hard to concentrate on soccer, playing a season in sweeper and centre midfield, though he did come away with a Best and Fairest.

Rathjen ahs excelled at many sports other than soccer, becoming schools champ in Orienteering and also in Touch Football. Rathjen also persued a hobby for Mountain Bike Riding, which was situated close to his Adelaide. Rathjen in now living happily in Melbourne, though he would really like a NEW BIKE. He is living in a leaking house in North Carlton, which is not in the main soccer playing district. Rathjen supports Adelaide United FC
