[edit] Self-admitted possible COI
I am aware of Wikipedia's guidance on auto-biographies. This entry contains no original research; I have taken pains to write with a NPOV; and provided only information which is verifiable. Furthermore, I have no promotional intent. While I am not citing Google results as a source, most if not all of the information in this entry can be confirmed through simple searches. I used the entry for Bruce Schneier as a guide in terms of layout and format. I welcome Wikipedians' comments and suggestions on making this a better entry, particularly in regards to meeting Wikipedia's policies. theprez98 (talk) 03:07, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
CyberGhostface , since you added the notices on the page, could you possibly add some comments and suggestions as to why you did so. Above I have listed reasons why I think this page conforms to Wikipedia's policies, but you haven't offered any suggestions as to why they haven't. I would appreciate it if you could add your comments here so that I can understand your reasoning. In the meantime, I have respectfully contested speedy deletion. Thank you for your consideration. theprez98 (talk) 03:17, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Response to speedy deletion
According to the criteria for speedy deletion, CSD A7: "An article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from questions of verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability; to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable." It is my suggestion that on account of having given one of the first public presentations on the technology of IEDs, having been published, cited numerous times in the computer security press, and given numerous public presentations in the field of computer security, I am notable in the same sense of other such computer security specialists that already have existing Wikipedia pages: Johnny Long, StankDawg, Ben Laurie, as a few examples. I have also edited the first paragraph of the article to denote notability in regards to my counter-IED work. theprez98 (talk) 03:29, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Response to COI/NPOV
I have already admitted to a potential conflict of interest, but believe that I have overcome these possible stumbling blocks by specifically adhering to Wikipedia's guidelines. Note that Wikipedia does not prohibit autobiographies, only discourages them. Many people (including Mr. Wales) have been known to edit their own biographies. Regarding NPOV, I have posted factual information, and would certainly be willing to remove anything that cannot be properly sourced. Furthermore, I would be more than happy to work with someone else to ensure the entry meets Wikipedia standards. theprez98 (talk) 03:34, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
