Talk:Michael Garibaldi

The current version of the article jumps straight from "The First Two Years" to "The Fourth Year". Correction is probably called for. Luis Dantas 12:29, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Rank?
Does Mr. Garibaldi ever have a rank in Earthforce? Commander, Lieutenant Commander, Ensign?Ninquerinquar 01:12, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- See these forum posts. A user quoting the Official Babylon 5 Magazine says:
- So I've listed the ranks in grouping as a break-down. each rank listed second or third is lower than the first, except for Admiral and General. (i.e. Lieutneant [sic] Colonels are lower than Colonels.)
- Admiral/General: They are of equal standing, however Admirals (and one of the reasons we didn't see them) are fleet (as in Pacific Fleet, or Atlantic Fleet) commanders. Generals (at least in our series) tend to be involved still on the tactical level. General Franklin and General Hague are two examples of tactical appearances on the show.
- Colonels, Lt. Colonels, Majors: This is why Major Krantz outranked Sheridan, because Captains come next in order. [DarthCaligula's note: I think he meant Major Ryan from Severed Dreams]
- Captain, Commander, Lt. Commander: The two Commander ranks tuck back into the Naval system.
- Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant and Ensign: These are the next levels coming down the ladder.
- Security Chief: (As in Garibaldi). Even though Garibaldi was really, technically, outside the military. We never really explored how EarthForce Security worked in tandem with the military. I have also thought that they were like the Air Police of the AirForce, but again we never set that in stone.
- It seems to be a no to your question. Does that help? grendel|khan 02:35, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- I guess that it's part of his 'outsider mystique'. It seems odd just because he wears the same uniform as everybody else. Thanks! Ninquerinquar 01:05, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Garibaldi is referred to as a "former Chief Warrant Officer" in the episode The Face of the Enemy from Season 4. Hlemmon 06:57, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
