Mick Flannery

Mick Flannery (b. 1983) is a folk music singer and songwriter from Blarney, Ireland. He is a former member of the rock band Black Orange.
[edit] Recordings and Performances
Mick has released both an EP and an album as a solo artist. His debut EP was launched last November, and his album "Evening Train" was released on August 25, 2005 in CB's Gallery, New York City.
He has performed in a number of bars and clubs in Cork City, including The Lobby, the Triskel Arts Centre, the Corner House and the Half Moon Club. During the summer of 2005 he participated in a week of shows as part of the Islands of Song Atlantic Crossroads Festival in St. John's, Canada.

Mick's songwriting ability has been recognised by two different international music competitions. On February 8 2005 he was named a Finalist in the Folk category in the December section of the International Song of the Year Competition. On January 5 2005 he was named a semi-finalist in the Lyrics only category of the International Songwriting Competition (ISC).
Recently he wrote and performed music for the CSN Dramask production of Brecht's play The Caucasian Chalk Circle which ran in the Granary Theatre for two weeks. The Irish Examiner described the sound track as "superb".
