Michal Levin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michal Levin (b1952) is an intuitive, writer, wisdom teacher and pioneer of LEAP™ (Life Energy Awareness Process) Meditation also known as Heartleads Meditation, often described as a chakra meditation[1]. Along with an extraordinary set of meditation experiences that changed her life[2], she gained the rare ability she describes as "to perceive a quality I call 'energy' in and around people". When I see this quality, I understand or read information from it. I understand what life events caused the energy to take the shape it does, and how this affects the individual.”[3]. She has devoted the last seventeen years to teaching others about this subtle Energy and how working with it can transform both the individual and the wider world. She is the founder of the Michal Levin Institute (MLI) and has published four books.

[edit] Biography

Michal Levin was born in South Africa and later lived in Zimbabwe. She lives and works in England now, having also lived in the USA. Michal has always held a strong belief in social justice and she became a successful television journalist in the UK in the 1980s, working on the campaigning programme Hard News for the newly formed Channel Four and as the Medical and Science correspondent for the BBC’s high-profile current affairs programme Newsnight[4]. She has also worked as a management consultant, with high street names as clients, and held the post of Beauty Editor of upmarket British magazine Tatler. Michal has written for a number of UK newspapers and publications, including The Telegraph, Vogue, Evening Standard and The Times, both as a contributor and a columnist[5].

In 1990 Michal had the experience that was to completely change the direction of her life. With no belief in anything esoteric but suffering from an incomprehensible sense of unease and physical discomfort, she took a sabbatical and attempted meditation. To her great surprise, this immediately catapulted her into another level of reality, a domain where there were ‘beings’ or presences, and a geography (which in later experiences she recognised as constant).”[6]. Over the months that followed Michal meticulously recorded the significant quantity of input she was given in meditation, and her experiences, in a diary. It was during this time, that she gained the ability to see and understand ‘energy’[7]. Her experiences confirmed Carl Jung’s observation:

“Subtle body energies are both corporeal and semi-spiritual in nature.” Dr. Carl Jung [8]

Michal also painted prolifically at this period. Many of these paintings were later used to illustrate a book she wrote, Meditation, Path to the Deepest Self. Michal was pressed to use her gifts to help clients in 1991. Also under pressure, throughout the 1990’s, she gave a series of seminars called Line of the Light that included key subjects such as Relationships and Death and the Dark. In 1994 her intuition saved her life when it led her to identify a tumour that no specialist, orthodox or alternative, had been able to detect. She told the story of her transformation in her autobiography, endorsed by former Times editor Lord Rees Mogg, writer Bel Mooney, and academic and specialist in near death experiences Kenneth Ring. The book was the subject of a major interview in The Times newspaper[9]. An extract from Michal’s second book, Spiritual Intelligence, was published in the Times[10]

In 2004 Michal participated in setting up a venture capital fund in New York dedicated to new medical technologies. Her specific brief was to investigate technologies utilising frequency and vibration - energy - capable of influencing health and well being. As a result she travelled throughout the USA surveying and assessing emerging energy medicine technologies. During that time, 2004/5 she also gave a series of seminars at Penn State Medical School, for medical professionals, called Essential Practise for Advanced Medicine, around her theories and experience of the energy body, known in part also as the biofield (USA NIH). In 2006 she was involved in formulating protocols for experiments at Penn State University Medical School investigating the efficacy of energy medicine.

Michal has two grown-up children and two grandchildren.
