Michael Yeargan

Michael H. Yeargan is an American Tony Award winning set designer for theatre who also designs for opera.

He is a professor in Stage Design at the Yale School of Drama, and has designed for opera companies all over the world, including the Washington Opera and the Dallas Opera.interview

His scenic designs for Broadway include South Pacific (2008–?; Tony Award nomination; Drama Desk Award), Cymbeline (2007–08), Awake and Sing! (2006; Tony Award nomination; Drama Desk Award), Seascape (2005–06; Drama Desk Award nomination), The Light in the Piazza (2005–06; Tony Award, Drama Desk Award), The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm (1999), Ah, Wilderness! (1988), Hay Fever (1985–86), It Had to Be You (1981), A Lesson From Aloes (1980–81), Dirty Linen & New-Found-Land (1977, sets and costumes), Something Old, Something New (1977, sets and costumes), Me Jack, You Jill (1976, sets and costumes), The Ritz (1975–76 sets and costumes), and Bad Habits (1974, sets and costumes).

He also designed sets for Joe Egg and The Illusion at Dallas Theatre Center.
