Michael Roche ( Born January 1, 1984, Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish footballer. A defender with exceptional pace and strength who plays for Kildare County FC in the fai Eircom League of Ireland First Division.
[edit] Schoolboy career
Michael Roche played his schoolboy football with St Josephs Boys. In August 2001 while on a second trial with Charlton athletic, Roche was involved in a tragic incident in which a young colleague drowned when crossing a lake on a team bonding exercise with the British army in Aldershot, England. Roche was hailed a hero for his part in saving Neil mc cafferty -another member of the youth team from drowning. In December 2007 Roche brought a case against the Ministry of defense which was heard in the High Court in London.

Michael Roche signed for Bray wanderers from St josephs boys. He made his first team debut towards the end of the 2004 season away to Cobh Ramblers and went on to make over 40 appearances for the Bray wanderers first team. Michael Roche was voted supporters young player of the year in 2005. He was captain of the Bray wanderers under 21 Enda McGuill cup winning team before signing for Irish league side Loughall midway through the 2006 season. Roche was a member of the Irish Colleges National team (cfai) in 2007. In 2007 Michael Roche returned to the league of Ireland signing for athlone town.In 2008 Roche signed for Kildare County FC.
