Michael J. Reghi is an American television play-by-play announcer. He is best known for being the former television play-by-play announcer of the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (1997-2003), and the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (1994–2006). Prior to the 2006–2007 NBA season, Reghi was replaced as the television voice of the Cavaliers by former Detroit Pistons announcer Fred McLeod.[1].
Reghi attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan, and is a graduate of Arizona State University. In 1980, Reghi was hired by WLIO in Lima, Ohio as a sports anchor.[2]. He then went on to WDHO-TV in Toledo, Ohio, and from 1983-1986, worked at Cleveland's WEWS-TV. He was the sports director for WTVG-TV in Toledo, Ohio from 1986-1991, and hosted a show at Cleveland's WKNR radio from 1991 to 1996.
Reghi is currently the host of Browns Table, an FSN Ohio round table show focused on the Cleveland Browns. He continues to work with FSN Ohio as an announcer for MAC Basketball and as a contributor to Cleveland Rants (a local show airing on FSN Ohio). In July 2007, he served as a fill-in play-by-play announcer for television broadcasts of Cincinnati Reds games. He also returned to WKNR radio, serving as the host of the KNR Overtime postgame show following Cavaliers games[3]. During the 2007 final season of the now defunct NFL Europe (subsequently renamed NFL Europa), Reghi called several games for the NFL Network.
