Michael Randell

Michael D. Randell, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. (b.1965) is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Randell is on the Medical Staff at Northside Hospital in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Northside Hospital is one of the largest, comprehensive women’s health care facilities in the Country.
Born in Miami, Florida, Dr. Randell earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in Atlanta and received his Medical degree with research distinction from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Randell is well trained in laparoscopic and robotic gynecological surgery.
His research interests in managing cancer during pregnancy, the effects of barometric pressure changes on the initiation of labor, and the treatment of atypical Pap smears have led to award winning presentations at scientific meetings. Dr. Randell is regularly invited to speak at national medical conferences on various obgyn topics and serves as a consultant to many pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Additionally, he is frequently interviewed by the national news media on issues related to women’s health care.
Besides having a full-time clinical practice, Dr. Randell is the inventor of the DiagnoStickTM, a medical device developed to make the standard, most reliable method of vaginitis detection easer and less tedious, and the BabyTimeTM, an electronic pocket sized apparatus for personal tracking of estimated gestational age and estimated remaining days of a pregnancy.
Dr. Randell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Randell has been selected by the Atlanta medical community as a “Top Doctor.”
