Michael Guerin is a fictional character from the television series Roswell. He was portrayed by actor Brendan Fehr.

“The reason you didn't get the flashes is because I didn't let you get them. I didn't let you see me. I've never let anyone see me before... because there are things inside of me that I don't want people to see. There's things inside of me that I'm not so proud of. But I've thought about it, and I want you to see me.”

[edit] Biography

Michael is part of the Royal Four of Antar, which includes Max Evans, Isabel Evans and Tess Harding. He's a hybrid and he's the clone of the former alien Rath. Rath was the second in command of Antar and the king's best friend to whom he was very loyal. A section of people believed that maybe if he was ruler, then Antar would have been a better world.
However this isn't really confirmed by other canon sources, and this theory came only from the voice of the character Courtney (who was a "Michael-worshipper"). In the series his on/off girlfriend is Maria DeLuca and he's in love with her.

Michael is very much the rebel and the outsider of the group, even more than Max and Isabel, because he lived in a trailer park and suffered abuse from his alcoholic foster father. He often infuriated Max and Isabel as he tended to act impulsively and was very rash in his decisions. However, looking into his background we can understand this behavior better because he wanted to get out of the situation he was in, and believed that his life on Antar would have been much better than his current one.
In Maria DeLuca he finds a reason to stay, and realizes that Earth isn't such a bad place for him. He also discovers that he is not the bad guy, as he has stated he sees himself being.

[edit] Powers and Abilities

Season 1: In season one he is shown with the same molecular manipulation skills as the rest of the hybrids, but openly states he cannot control them as well as Max and Isabel can. He tends to also make things explode when he loses control or gets angry, this could be seen as a form of molecular combustion. In the season finale he is shown firing energy blasts from his hands (this leads to friction with Max as he sees himself as "the bad guy" and Max as the "good guy").

Season 2: In season two he is shown to have much greater control, but his counterpart from New York is still better than he is, as Michael cannot speed up a truck.

[edit] Season One

Michael is in the Cafe with Max when Liz gets shot, he tries to stop Max from helping her, as it is revealed later that Isabel, Max and Michael had all made a pact, never to use their powers in public, as it was just too dangerous. He gets the jeep and he and Max both make a quick exit from the Cafe. He wants to leave Roswell as soon as he realises that their cover has been blown, but is convinced to stay by the others.

He hardly attends school and has trouble sleeping, when he hears from Liz about the possibility of a 4th alien having been in Roswell in 1959. He breaks into the sheriff's office to look for answers, but the files he needs had been taken by the FBI, so instead he finds a key, which gives him an image of a geometric dome.. He can't seem to get the image out of his head and goes to art class for the first time in a few months to draw it. From the James Atherton Book 'Among Us', Michael finds the location of the Dome. In getting there, he requests a ride from Maria De Luca, where their relationship firsts develops.

[edit] Season Two

During the second season finds Michael with new non-spiky, longer hair and he has a motorbike. He is still not the ideal boyfriend or the most charming or tactful person. If anything his anger and frustration have increased and he is annoyed by Max's sudden appointment as king and leader, and they argue frequently. Michael comes to trust Sheriff Valenti a lot in this season. And of course finding out more about himself he has overcome some of his anger that we seen in the first season. Maria and Michael continue to bicker and be close, but he initially stands firm on his resolve not to continue his romantic relationship with her. When the battle of the Skin (a new alien life form) Michael thinks he is not ready or strong enough. Later a new waitress at the Crashdown "Courtney" seems to like him which makes Maria very jealous and annoyed. However, Michael is not interested in Courtney at all, but they become closer when he finds out she a good alien of her kind.
