Michael Gallagher (filmmaker)

Michael Gallagher (born 1988) was born and raised in San Diego, California. He took to filmmaking at an early age, making his first short films at 9. Since then, Michael has attended High School summer programs at The New York Film Academy and various film classes. He has worked on several short films (both 16mm and HD) where his position has ranged from director (Flattest) to production assistant (Entourage).

For three straight summers, Michael has been lucky enough to win Best Comedy at the BestFest America Student Film Festival for his "Flat" short film trilogy. The films, which star such actors as Billy St. John, David A. Cooper and even Michael himself, have gained great notoraity at film festivals all over the world. The latest film in the trilogy, Flattest, stars Academy Award nominated actor Michael Lerner (Barton Fink). The film not only won 1st place comedy at the 2007 BestFest America Film Festival, but also took home the "Audience Choice Award" and "Best of the Fest" (Grand Jury Prize). The three films are enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

Michael is currently studying film production at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, California.
