Michael Frendo

Michael Frendo (born July 29, 1955[1]) is a Maltese politician and a member of the Nationalist Party. He was Malta's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2008.
Frendo was first elected to the House of Representatives of Malta in 1987. From 1990 to 1992 he was Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Culture and Consumer Protection, from 1992 to 1994 he was Minister of Youth and Arts, and from 1994 to 1996 he was Minister of Transport, Communications and Technology. He was Parliamentary Secretary (Minister of State) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from March to July 2004 before becoming Minister of Foreign Affairs on July 3, 2004,[1] replacing John Dalli.
Frendo failed to be re-elected to the House of Representatives in the March 2008 parliamentary election and was consequently replaced as Foreign Minister on March 12. But re-elected again in Maltese parliament by the casual elections that held on Thursday 17 April 2008.[2]
