Michael Cogdill (b. 1961) is the current main news anchor for WYFF. Born in Asheville, N.C., he graduated cum laude from UNC-Asheville in 1984 with a degree in Communication. He has also written a book called Cracker the Crab and the Sideways Afternoon.
Recently, he was awarded the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award for Feature Reporting in Large TV Markets. Michael has also won 21 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards.
Cogdill completed his first novel, She-rain, in 2006, but to date has been unsuccessful in finding a publisher to print it.
