Michael Clegg (born 3 July 1977 in manchester) is a retired English football defender who most notably played for Manchester United. He currently works as the strength and conditioning coach of Sunderland.
Clegg was part of the 1995 FA Youth Cup winning side and became a professional player soon afterwards, making his debut during the 1996-97 season. Although he was never a regular first-team player, Clegg remained at Manchester United until the summer of 2002, when he moved down two divisions to play for Oldham Athletic. He spent two years at Boundary Park before retiring from playing at the age of 27.
