Michael A. Brown is a Washington, DC politician and was a candidate in the 2006 Washington, DC Mayoral Race. Michael A. Brown is a different person than Michael D. Brown, who is the District's current U.S. (Shadow) Senator.

[edit] 2006 Mayoral Candidacy

Brown polled at 3% in August of 2006 and was considered a long-shot at best to become mayor in the election held that year. A Washington Post article on September 4, 2006 highlighted his candidacy; according to the article, Brown said at the age of 9 that he "wanted to be mayor" someday.

After consistently trailing the pack of mayoral candidates, Brown dropped out of the race September 8, and announced his support for candidate and city council chairperson Linda W. Cropp.

Brown ran to represent Ward 4 in the Council of the District of Columbia.[1]^{[dead link]} The seat was vacated by Adrian Fenty when he became mayor.
