unconventional use of mianerin:

If Ive been on a workoholic binge for 1 week or more then at the end I use mianserin 30-60 mg - gives me a long sleep (12-20 hours depending on how much fatigued I am) and after getting up the piled-up fatigue has gone, and within 5-6 hours of getting up the groggy feeling is gone too.

If I take the same dose when I am *not* tired I just feel slightly relaxed, it doesn't then act as a hypnotic.

Basically, some researchers have shown that mianserin can extend the lifespan of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans by about 30 percent.[1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.249.104 (talk) 07:41, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
