I definitely believe that this would be a positive change to make Wikipedia more homogenous. I see no problem with splitting the section off into a new article. Macraw83 17:15, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Many schools have pages for specific sports teams. It's the same idea as splitting Miami Hurricanes from University of Miami — you can cover the subject in greater detail.
