I don't belive that the steptronic had a CVT, it was a paddle shift semi auto box.

[edit] Steptronic Gearbox

The Steptronic gearbox is indeed a CVT. The semi-auto mode is simply a series of fixed settings on the CVT and is controlled by a pair of nasty cheap switches on the steering wheel or by moving the gear shift forward/back to simulate a sequential transmission.

When the TF version appeared the name was changed to Stepspeed. Dryce 23:26, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Was?

According to the British Motor Industry article, the MG TF has entered production in 2007, and is therefore a current car. Surely this article should be in the present tense? - • The Giant Puffin • 19:35, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I was one of the few who owned a 1957 (or 56?) TF 1500. I bought it in January 1958 in LA when I returned from overseas while in the Marine Corps. I loved that car. It would only do about 85, but it would do that 85 safely on any road you wanted to drive, no matter how curvy. Neil Huff

[edit] Why only one article for F and TF?

The TF is different enough to the F to warrant its own article. Indeed, the TF looks largely like an F. There are also some components shared between the two. But, no more than say, those shared between a VW Bora and a Skoda Octavia. The TF has a completely different suspension and steering set-up, the engines are different (they are both K-series, but the TF is more evolved in the engine department). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.107.182.109 (talk) 22:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I found an error in this description

101kW is NOT 145HP !!!! It's 135-137 only (135 "european HP" or 137 PS units). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.147.143.9 (talk) 08:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
