[edit] Rocky IV
Thank you, I didn't really notice it before, but you are right that shouldn't be there either. I've removed it. The fact that the film doesn't follow the rules of the real world is irrelevant because it's just a film. Bignole 23:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Most of the time people add a lot of nonsense (nothing personal against what you did) into the "trivia" section, when "trivia" should really be "out of universe" information. For example, saying Batman Returns used the Star Wars set as it's own set. (this isn't true but you get the idea) It isn't about what happens in the film, goofs, continuity errors and such, it's about outside of the film. Generally, Wikipedia wants you to avoid "Trivia" sections in general, because by nature they are unencyclopedic. Usually, if you have items that actually fit "trivia" guidelines you can usually incorporate them into other sections like the "production", "casting", and similar sections of an article. - Do you mean what's currently in the trivia section? I don't remember exactly what's there (hence why I didn't remove the other bit till just today), but I think I did notice one thing that could go in the production section. Bignole 02:57, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Took a quick look, ok..so the "Stallone was injured .." could be placed in the production section (though it needs a source). The "Family Guy" reference could be placed in a new section called "Other media influences" (or something like that). The word "Trivia" comes across as very fanish, and less encyclopedish (more like IMDb and less like Britannica). Sometimes you can reword things or sections so that they actually fit the criteria. Now, chances are that if we cannot find enough information to go in the "trivia" or "influences" section, then it will be removed altogether, and the 1 thing can be placed somewhere else. Sometimes it's tricky to find the proper place for things. The Family Guy references needs a source as well, it may be obvious to fans, but without a reliable source to back it up it would be considered original research. Bignole 03:01, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Until we can find a better place for it, I'd just go ahead and add the citation for now. If it ever gets enough "similar" info then we can rename the section. Bignole 07:42, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
