Talk:Metropolitan Borough of St Helens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have reverted to an earlier version because "St Helens is a town in the historic county of Lancashire. Following the 1974 boundary changes it was adopted as a metropolitan borough in Merseyside. It is named for its main town, St Helens. Many people do not realise that Merseyside is only an administrative county and that it doesn't actually exist in it's own right." is in the wrong place. Firstly, this feature is for the Metroplitan Borough.I sympathise with the statment that "St Helens is a town in the historic county of Lancashire." but it belongs on the St Helens entry. Secondly, it is not true to say that "Merseyside... doesn't actually exist in it's own right". It may be only an administrative county (Actually its current status is a "ceremonial county") but something created by Parliament must have some legally validity.
