Metropol Hotel Belgrade

The Hotel Metropol is one of Belgrade's tourist symbols.It was build in the mid-1950's. It has 218 rooms and 6 apartments. Soon it will undergo a phase of reconstruction, which will cost about 20 million Euros.The Hotel has had many famous guests such as Louis Armstrong,Kirk Douglas,Igor Stravinsky,Elizabeth Taylor,Sophia Loren,Jack Nicholson,Nehru,Neil Armstrong,Buzz Aldrin,Vittorio De Sica,Gina Lollobrigida,Tigran Petrosian,Mikhail Tal,Boris Spassky,Bobby Fischer and others. Ipe Ivandic died here after he fell from the 6th floor. It is widely speculated the it was a suicide. [1]
