[edit] Band History
[edit] Formation (2007 - 2008)
The group was formed in February of 2007 as a project, by guitarists Billy and Pete'. They both jammed together, and worked a while under the name "The D:RR Project". After the project searched for a drummer until mid-June, the project finally found a drummer when Billy met old school friend Mauro (The Drumming Machine). The group was now looking for a singer, and putting ads up everywhere on the net. Meanwhile, the project decided to change it's name, and changed it to 'metrökueen' (which was originally created as 'Metro-queen'). [5]
After coming across a profile of Shawn on the internet in September, Billy auditioned shawn. According to the band shawn 'blended' easily with the band, and after the search they worked together under the name metrokueen and decided to look for a bass guitarist. A bass guitarist was in the band but after the band entered the battle of the bands television competition, he quit the band. An old friend of Billy's joined the band for a one off show which was 'RockBaze'. Metrokueen as a band, went out live for the very first time, and successfully won 3rd prize from the jury and 2nd from televoting. Another event came across for Metrokueen, which was a full gig setlist, but Metrokueen had no bass guitarist. James 'Jelly' came in to learn all their originals and covers for the event, and eventually after the event Jelly joined the band.[6]
[edit] Metrokueen (2008 - present)
The band decided in early May of 2008 to part ways with their singer and bassist. After their departure, the band claimed they had some "issues" regarding the band songs' rights on their blog they posted on 12th May titled "Legal Music Authorization" (which was eventually deleted days later). "Since metrokueen part ways with Shawn and Jelly recently on 1st May, the band had some issues regarding songs and rights. We would like everybody to know, that the band seeked legal confirmations and advice, and all the songs we played live and created are still metrokueen's property." The band listed the band's songs and claimed that the songs are legally under the name of metrokueen. Metrokueen said that after the departure, the band had been working on new material, new stable setlists and some perfections in their work. The band later confirmed a show in June with fellow band ReBorn[7] but it will be a new reincarnation for Metrokueen.[8] At this time Pete' appeared on the 2008 Fender Catalogue. [9][10][11][12]
