Metal Trilogy

Metal trilogy is a term describing the progressive rock band King Crimson's series of three albums from 1973-1974 before their breakup in the latter year. Although the release are prevalently heavy metal as their name implies, they also incorporate elements of softer sorts of music that were the norm in earlier albums. The names of these albums are Larks' Tongues in Aspic (1973), Starless and Bible Black (1974) and Red (also 1974) They are influential on future music in specific, grunge. The trilogy is preceded by Islands and is followed by Discipline.
