Talk:Mervyn Tuchet, 2nd Earl of Castlehaven

[edit] info removed from article
I took out the claim that he had a daughter by Lady Anne Stanley--this is not true according to thepeerage.com. As a result, I also removed the following note from the bottom of the article:
- The marriage of Katherine Gray to Edward Seymour, Earl of Hertford (d. 1621) was of questionable validity: if it be deemed invalid, and if one excludes the descendants of James VI & I, then Ferdinando Stanley would have been the heir of the Tudors. He was approached by conspirators and offered the English throne if he would help in their conspiracy against Elizabeth I. He declined, and was then poisoned by the conspirators. Anne Stanley would have succeeded him to the throne, but her children by Baron Chandos would have proceeded her daughter by the Earl of Castlehaven in the succession.

- Please see William Addams Reitwiesner's essay on the subject. He lists a daughter, Anne Tuchet, who died young and unmarried. john k 01:20, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

- Okay, that looks good. I was suspicious because it wasn't in the Lady Anne Stanley article so I can add it there as well. Regardless, I don't think the "Note" should be returned to the article. It's more relevent to the Stanley's than to Mervyn Tuchet. Tocharianne 04:30, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
