[edit] Proposed Deletion

  • comment (against but...) His softwares are very famous and downloaded a lot. So I think he deserves an article. However the current article should be improved. 41.220.96.62 12:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A Mild Objection To Deletion

I entered this article after listening to a podcast from The New York Times dated March 28, 2007. I wanted to know more about him, and the information was not in wikipedia. The name was already a red link in CWShredder though. In the podcast they claim that this is an individual that deserves watching, and I agree. In my opinion as a programmer, any programmer from a foriegn country that makes a national venu like the New York Times while still in college is, by definition, notable. I believe that deleting this article will leave Wikipedia less than complete.

That being said, I appreciate you argument. Your argument is valid and if you choose to delete this article I will not protest. I only ask that you also delete all links to it when you do so no one will be tempted to re-enter it as I obviously was. Besides, in defence of deletion, Mr. Bellekom is a very busy man right now, and this article may actually detract valuable attention from his studies.

As far as expanding the article goes. The only supporting materials I know of, other than his own web site, is the podcast I referenced above. I am not sure that will be a stable long term reference. In specific I am not sure how long the New York Times will keep the supporting links up. I would hate to expand this article only to have my references deleted in a couple of months. I have thought of sending him an E-Mail and asking if any of his friends would care to help flesh out this article, but I really don't want to waste his time. I was hoping someone more familiar with him and his work would expand this article.

Thank you for reading this article and expressing your concerns. Commdweeb 08:02, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

The lack of decent sources was one of the reasons I prodded this - I heard of him long ago after a frantic search for some anti-spyware software led me to HijackThis! - and if you can find a source supporting his notability I would gladly remove the PROD request myself. Even if the article is deleted there isn't anything preventing its recreation at a later date if a source backing up his notability is found. QmunkE 08:48, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New Info

I found an interview made by Michael Simpson. I plan to incorporate more of the information from the interview into the article, but I don't have time right now. I did include a link to the interview in the references section. --Commdweeb 21:26, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
