[edit] Malcolm X Park?

Something this article is lacking, which I think it needs, but I am unqualified to write about at this point, is how the park became known as Malcolm X Park. I do intend to write a bit in here about the park's history as it relates to gangs and such, but the origin of the association with Malcolm X remains elusive, and I've been researching. I heard that Malcom X had delivered a speech in the park, but am unable to find a source on this. --דוד ♣ D Monack 00:38, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
I have heard that as well, that Malcolm X was directly connected with the park in such a way. However, sources lack. It took hours of digging to find only a little information on the official name-change that failed, but sources on the background of the origin of the park's Malcolm X-ness have eluded me. [edit] Drum group

I think the drum group is indeed encyclopedic, as this isn't the first time I've heard of it. The passage, however, was very poorly written and in need of some serious repair. SchuminWeb (Talk) 20:55, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
