MermaidFX

MermaidFX is a company that creates mermaid tails and other aquatic costumes for television shows, films, commercials and individuals. Their work has been most widely seen in the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys television series worn by actors Angela Dotchin and Michael Hurst.
The professional costumes made by MermaidFX are used by photographers and other professionals. Some stock photography houses including iStockPhoto, ShutterStock and JupiterMedia Corporation have photos including their costumes.[citation needed] The company also manufactures a line of consumer quality mermaid costumes called "MerTails", mostly used by individuals for personal use.

In 2005 MermaidFX began production on a live action film version of the Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Little Mermaid. Production on the film was halted due to budget. MermaidFX also produces a line of mermaid home videos including The Weeki Wachee Springs Archives and is the distributor of selected Annette Kellerman films.
In 2006 the company created a line of costumes based on the designs worn by Annette Kellerman.
In 2007 the company ceased production of it's custom designed costumes and began manufacturing budget priced consumer quality costumes.
MermaidFX also does business under the names MerTails, Inc., MermaidFins.com and The Mermaid Company.
