Merdeka Square, Jakarta

Lapangan Merdeka or Merdeka Square is a huge plain located in the centre of Jakarta. This square is surrounded by important government buildings such as: The Presidential Palace (Istana Merdeka), The Supreme Court and various government ministries. It also has the National Monument (Monumen Nasional or Monas) in the middle of it. The square measured one square kilometre.
