Hello peoples. I proposed performing major additions to this article. It is interesting that someone put the link for Prosiect Down the bottom as I was coming in to do just that because I used to work for them. They have a really good archive of things, especially things that can be scanned (or I did them already!). Can I go ahead? - Chris Owen 08:50 21st November 2005

Fine with me. I actually added the link following a discussion with the Prosiect Menai team in Menai Bridge. I suspect that there is a balance to be struck between having the detail here or on the Prosiect Menai web-site. Also bear in mind that there are also articles on Britannia Bridge, Thomas Telford, Robert Stephenson and Menai Bridge which might benefit from additions.

[edit] The englyn

It means, more or less

High fort, high over the flow - the world steers
Vehicles; o'er they go.
All the strong strait's ships shall slow
Slide, her shining chains below.

It would probably count as OR if I mentioned this in the article. Marnanel 20:43, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Designer

Who built it? The ubiquitous Isambard Kingdom Brunel? --TresRoque 05:59, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Huh? Hugely greater?

"but was so hugely greater than anything previously built"

I would rewrite that as "was so much larger", but I am not sure that this bridge was actually the largest of it's kind. I'm not even sure exactly what the original author meant. Steve Jobs should drop the "insanely great" phrase because "hugely greater" is just so much greater. Maybe a bridge expert can fix this ...

[edit] Nearest village?

"The nearest village is the village of Llanfair PG."

Surely the nearest village is Menai Bridge / Porthaethwy? Is someone confusing the Britannia Bridge with the suspension bridge. --jmb 12:49, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Is the correct name not just "Menai Bridge"? --jmb (talk) 09:40, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
