Meniscus transplant

The meniscus is the cartilage in the knee which separates the upper leg bone from the lower leg bone. A meniscus transplant consists of taking out a worn or damaged meniscus and replacing it with a new one from a donor. The procedure is still not 100% satisfactory but is being researched.
