Menae

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Menae were the goddesses of the phases of the moon. They were the daughters of the moon goddess Selene and Endymion. They probably included Nemea (New Moon), Pandeia (Waning Phases), Mesomene (Waxing Phases), Meniskos (Crescent Moons), and Mene (Full Moon). They also presided over the 50 lunar months the Greeks used to measure time.
