Regarding points (2) and (3), WP:V and WP:COPY should help. For the copy-and-pasted text you need to make it clear that you're happy to release the content under the GFDL. There may be additional issues around proving that you are you and not somebody else claiming to have written the material. There's also a Copyright FAQ. It's not my area of expertise but you should be able to find help from people in the know at WP:CP and the associated talk page.
As far as point (1) is concerned, I can see no reason for editors to remove a well placed wikilink from the American magazine to the British one, in a "see also" or similar section. Hope this helps, Waggers 20:58, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
