[edit] SVT

This article mentions "SVT" several times in the history section. However, SVT didn't exist until its creation in 1978. The article should reflect this and SVT should be replaced by "Sveriges Radio", "Sveriges Radio TV" etcetera where appropriate. Väsk 17:23, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Done. Joseph talk 15:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 2004

Lena Philipsson finished sixth at Eurovision 2004, due to the fact that she got votes from more countries. It could be argued that the tie shouldn't be broken (as it is irrelevant to first/tenth place) but for now I am changing it back to sixth. Joseph talk 12:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

In 1990, two countries shared the second place. Tie-break rule are only applied on 1st/10th place as you say. Shouldn't it therefor be counted as a shared 5th place?--90.224.50.167 11:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

From reading the talk page for the 2004 Contest I think the tie in 2004 was split because of the dynamic scoreboard, with which it would be impossible to have two countries sharing a position. Interestingly, Eurovision.tv doesn't even have a page on the 2004 Contest. Chwech | hum-dee-hum-hum 11:42, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Edit: The Wayback Machine throws up this, which shows Sweden as having finished sixth. Chwech | hum-dee-hum-hum 11:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyediting

Greetings, I am copyediting the page as requested by one of the contributers. I anticipate copyediting the entire page, but suggest, following its completion, that the sections referring to other articles (history, voting, and contestants) be merged with those pages, with only introductory paragraphs included on the page itself. I think this would enhance the readability of the page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will take my time. --Kenneth M Burke 21:10, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

I've noticed your copyediting; it seems to be coming along very well. I'll take a look at the sections when you're finished. Thanks for your time and effort. Chwech 20:42, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. --Kenneth M Burke 01:31, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I'll will need to go through the article a second time; if you note anything in question as I edit please let me know. --Kenneth M Burke 01:00, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I have gone through the page once and will go through it again. About the tense (conventional wisdom: it matters a lot but it doesn't really matter all that much ) and what really matters is that it is consistent! My concern is simply that I am a native Amer. English user and that what I change to make consistent may not necessarily be naturally consistent for Swedish or other users. --Kenneth M Burke 00:35, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Tense: What I mean to say is that me going through and making sure that past simple and past perfect simple are used correctly is less important (to me, at least) than ensuring a consistency of usage that is common to the regular users on the page. --Kenneth M Burke 00:41, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Done, I believe. --Kenneth M Burke 01:03, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Great, I'll have a look through it to check what words are used to refer to Melodifestivalen and what words refer to Eurovision in the article; I thought using "contest" to refer to the Swedish competition would be confusing (to me, at least, and it's hardly a major problem.) I'll also condense the History section per WP:SS. Thanks for working on the article, I really didn't think anyone would bother :) Chwech 13:37, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Logo

Indeed. It's been reverted. Chwech 14:17, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Good job

Since barely anyone noticed this was featured, excellent job! And good timing for them since there was only 3 days until the finals as of the day it was featured. ViperSnake151 16:32, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
