[edit] Career
Miller began teaching English on Long Island for seven years. As a child, she always wanted to act and model but was disuaded by family members who told her she would not make any money. In 1995, Melissa danced on MTV's hit show The Grind with host Eric Nies in Brooklyn where she showed her moves on TV along with other hip hop and house dancers. Since there was no money to be made, she quickly decided to teach as it was a stable job and very rewarding. Melissa soon met and later married her husband, Michael on July 24, 2004. They married in a secluded spot in Negril, Jamaica on the beach. While in honeymooning in Jamaica, Melissa was approached by a Playboy photographer who asked Miller to pose for Playboy. At the time, she respectfully declined and continued to enjoy her honeymoon. Soon after returning home, Melissa left teaching to pursue her dream of becoming a model. She trained extensively at the gym to keep her body in great shape.
By July 24, 2007, Miller attended a New York casting call for Playboy at the Sheraton Hotel. She impressed the producers and sparked the interest of Special Editions' producer Jeff Cohen. He sent Miller on two more test shoots with her hair up and again with it down in Manhattan. Ulimately Miller and another Long Island hopeful, were cherry-picked out of the largest New York casting call in Playboy history to become a potential Playmate. Within a week, Melissa and other potential Playmates appeared on Sirius Radio's Playboy morning show with Playboy host Kevin Klein, Bridget Marquardt and Andrea Lowell to speak about her dreams and experiences live. NFL's running back Reuben Droughns made an appearance as well as Howard Stern. Melissa Lynn's photographs from the show appeared in a featured article in Playboy's October 2007 edition featuring Girls of the SEC.
In October 2007, Miller made her debut as a featured entertainer and bartender on Law and Order's SVU "Signature" episode with Mariska Hargitay, which aired in January 2008 on NBC. After the release of 'Hot Housewives' on January 19, 2008, Miller began appearing at multiple book signings including the Hawaiian Topic Zone restaurant in Manhattan. She also attended Playboy's book signing with Playboy model Coco and actor Ice T where she took photographs with various patrons. Melissa guest bartended at a handful of bars on Long Island in her local town where she gained notoriety and popularity by many.
As a result of the overwhelming response from the public world wide, another Hot Housewives Special Edition will be featuring the almost thirty year old model this August 5, 2008. She "is excited and honored to be a part of a magazine that is classy, timeless and featured Marilyn Monroe as its first model."
Miller was invited to The Mansion in California to film for Playboy's Cyberclub, but she had to decline because she already accepted a spot on Law and Order SVU.
Miller is now pursuing wrestling and is working on opening a night club on Long Island.
