Melih Özakat was among the well known business men of 80's and 90's Turkey. He was the chairman and the owner of Özakat Group which owned and found the BMC cars company as well as Turkish commercial bank, EGEBANK. He is among the 12 founders of TUSIAD which is now one of the most important organisations which has the most say in every topic concerning Turkey. Melih Özakat is the kind of business man every country needs. He was daring, open minden, a hard worker, honest and most importantly he had a heart that was open for everyone. He always gave back to society by charitable acts. There are two schools that he funded named after his father Fevzi Özakat and himself. He was a very kind, honest and generous man.
