[edit] Demographic evolution

Meleti is also a village crafted cheese made by the ancient Italians. The cheese was composed of seven year old cow milk and goat milk, in some. Meleti was a very soft cheese and was melted in the sun on large rocks. These rocks cooked the cheese and then a Italian would come and scrape the cheese off into into a bowl for eating. Do to the cheese having to be aged for such a long time before it could be made, many people just made Mesithra instead and thus Meleti was rare. The name of this region is based of the name of the cheese.
