Melattur is a town in Malappuram district of Kerala. It is situated on the banks of Kadalundippuzha. Melattur is well connected to Perinthalmanna (16 km), Mannarkkad (24 km), Manjeri (23 km) and Kalikavu (10 km). The shortest route connecting Kozhikode with Palakkad (via Manjeri-Pandikkad-Mannarkkad, 134 km) pass through Melattur. Melattur is a special grade Panchayath. There is a Bus Stand built by the Panchayath. Melattur is a major railway station on the Nilambur-Shoranur line. A police station and telephone exchange also present here.
