Melanoxanthus Eschscholtz, 1829 is a genus of beetles.

M. anticus Candeze, 1859: This species seems to have wide distribution in Maharashtra. Two specimens were collected by Amol Patwardhan at places approximately 600 km apart. One at Tadoba National Park, District Chandrapur and other at Phanasad Wildlife Sanctuary, District Raigad of Maharashtra, India.
