MEHMET ALTUN

Mehmet Altun is a contemporary Turkish poet. Born in 1977. He has been studying about Business Administration for a few years than had a graduate of Archeology and Art-History as a Pre-historian. And he is still studying as an Ancient-Historian in master programme in University of Istanbul.

When he was in high school, his first poem titled "Malkara" was published in school magazine in 1989. Altun’s works of poetry, articles, critics, foto-interviews, news and interviews were published in magazines like Varlık, Radikal Kitap, E, Cumhuriyet Kitap, Kuzey Yıldızı, Sanat ve Hayat, Edebiyat ve Eleştiri, Voyager, Sabah and Öteki-siz. In 2004, Altun got the mantion in Yaşar Nabi Nayır Poetry Awards, and published his first book of poetry titled "Rüyamda Hayat Vardı". He has two more works as ready as to publish soon. One is poetry and the other is an academic work which is about firs state. It named as “Devletin Kökeni”

He has been working for a daily newspaper for 4 years which is named “SABAH”. It is one of the biggest daily newspaper in Turkey. He is still working for a publishing house as an editor in chief.
