[edit] Inaccuracy on how henna colours
Changed this sentence:
It is usually drawn on the hands and feet, where the designs will last the longest because it only penetrates the dead cells of the stratum corneum.
Henna colours because the colorant lawsone binds itself to the keratin of the skin. Hands and feet have thicker skin, and thus higher amounts of keratin, resulting in a darker colour.
